The Dublin City Marathon is returning this bank holiday weekend with 25,000 people expect to take part.
A route map has been released for runners and supporters who wish to know where Dublin Marathon 2022 is taking place. The marathon route is approximately 42.2 kilometres long and spans a variety of residential areas in Dublin.
The marathon kicks off at Fitzwilliam Square and moves along Leeson Street Lower heading towards Ushers Quay. It will then cross the river and head towards Phoenix Park, where viewers will have the perfect opportunity to cheer on the runners as they go down Chesterfield Avenue.

The route will go along the outside of Phoenix Park and then head towards Inchicore and South Circular Road. Runners will then make their way to Crumlin, Terenure and Rathgar. Clonskeagh and Stillorgan are next, and after that runners will have to endure the last leg as they make their way towards Merrion Square where the race will finish up.

Dublin Marathon road closures
The following roads will be closed for more than one day in the run-up to the marathon:
Merrion Square North - 7:30pm Friday 28th Oct to 4pm Monday 31st October
Merrion Square South - 6am Saturday 29th Oct to 8pm Sunday 30th October
The following roads will be closed on Sunday 30th October only:
Fitzwilliam Square West, Kildare St, Merrion Row, Cumberland Rd and Lad Lane - 3:30am to 11am
Herbert St, Herbert Lane, Herbert Place, Clanwilliam Place, Warrington Place, Baggot St Lower - 3:30am to 12pm
Fitzwilliam Square North, South and East, Fitzwilliam Place, and Fitzwilliam Street Upper - 3:30am to 1pm
Fitzwilliam Lane, Verschoyle Place, Grattan St, Grattan Court, Hagan's Court, Wilson’s Place, Grant’s Row, Pembroke Row and Power's Court - 3:30am to 5pm
Merrion St Upper - 3:30am to 5:30pm
Clare St - 3:30am to 6:30pm
