Met Eireann has issued a mixed-bag forecast for Dublin City Marathon this weekend.
Thousands are set to descend upon the capital on Sunday, October 30, for the 42.2 kilometres race. The marathon will kick off at 8:40 am Fitzwilliam Street Upper.
Runners will pass through areas such as Stoneybatter, the North Circular Road, Walkinstown, and Terenure. The night before the marathon will see long, clear spells in Dublin while heavy showers will batter the west and southwest of the country.

Thankfully, the national forecaster has promised some sunny spells on Sunday. But there will also be frequent showers with many turning heavy.
Showers will become confined to western and southern areas in the evening. It will be a fairly mild day with the highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
Speaking about Sunday night, a Met Eireann forecaster said: "Dry in many areas at first, with some showers in the west and south. A spell of heavy rain will develop over the western half of the country overnight.
"Moderate to fresh southerly winds will increase strong on Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees."
