Aer Lingus are hiring Airbus pilots - and the salary is fantastic.
All new pilots will start their Aer Lingus careers on the A320 family of aircraft. This includes the A320 CEO, A320 NEO, A321 NEO LR and next year, the A321 NEO XLR.
This will provide pilots with the opportunity to fly short haul within Europe and long haul to our destinations in Canada and North America on the longest range, single-aisle aircraft in the world. Here is all you need to know about what's on offer.

Direct Entry Pilots Scheme
Aer Lingus is looking for qualified pilots to apply, with those piloting Airbuses being offered a salary of up to €77,000 for the first year, and non AirBus type rated pilots have a package for the first year of €63,500. Other benefits include:

According to Aer Lingus, ideal job applicants must be highly motivated and keen to take responsibility and accountability, have teamwork skills, excellent communication skills as well as fluent in English both spoken and written, Proven interpersonal skills that fit with the Aer Lingus value and awareness of customers' expectations, flexible and adaptable with an enthusiastic and positive attitude to change. Applicants must also have an understanding of a pilot's influence on commercial priorities, as well as being safety focus consistent with Aer Lingus' 'Just Culture' model
Essential Criteria
- A valid EASA issued ATPL (or frozen ATPL)
- A current ME/IR
- MCC qualification or exemption (No requirement for APS MCC)
- AUPRT Certificate or exemption
- EASA Class 1 Medical certificate
- Valid English Language Proficiency level 4 or higher
- Provide 2 verifiable references
- Eligible to permanently work in Ireland with a passport entitling you to unrestricted travel worldwide.
- Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure
- Possession and demonstration of the key competencies outlined below
Desirable Criteria
- Applicants who hold a current Airbus type-rating (A320 / A330 / A340 / A350 / A380)
- Multi-crew commercial experience
Minimum Standards
According to Aer Lingus, there are some minimum standards that everyone needs to pass to secure a job as a pilot with them:
- You must have the right to live and work in the location you wish to work without sponsorship from Aer Lingus. We will ask you for proof of your eligibility to work if you are selected for an interview.
- Pilots will need to hold a valid passport that allows unrestricted worldwide travel
- You will need to pass our security clearance procedure.
- You must be in procession of an EASA Class 1 Medical certificate and ATPL
