Dublin influencer Conor Ryan's hugely successful cafe chain to open two new Dublin shops

Dublin influencer Conor Ryan is expanding his hugely successful chain of coffee shops into the city centre as he gears up to open The Buddy Cup in the Ilac Shopping Centre this weekend.

Conor first opened The Buddy Cup in Priorswood last year and has since introduced the brand to Artane, Malahide, Howth and Swords.

The Buddy Cup opens in the Ilac Shopping Centre this Sunday, February 20 with Dun Laoghaire to follow the weekend after.

Conor spoke to Dublin Live about his business and revealed that The Buddy Cup started after he was let go from his job at a Recruitment Company.

He said: "I was sitting around for a week and I said to myself, 'You know what? I'm going to go buy myself a trailer'. I bought it without having a name or a notion, wrote out the business plan and just got stuck straight into it."

The Buddy Cup has been nothing short of a success since and Conor even went on to sign a deal with Chopped before Christmas.

He explained: "Brian, the owner of Chopped, was kind of mentoring me for a while. Brian has a massive success story and he's a great entrepreneur and that's the direction I want to go in."

With a multitude of coffee shops to run in Dublin and two new ones on the way, Conor is nothing short of "flat out", but seems excited about his new ventures all the same.

Speaking about the Dun Laoghaire shop, Conor explained that people have been asking him to bring The Buddy Cup to the south side for some time now.

He said: "The one in Dun Laoghaire will be out on the pier itself. It's one of my own trailers. So that'll be great to have in summer.

"It will be nice for people to go grab a coffee and have a treat. We'll be doing the likes of sandwiches and stuff like that."
