Dublin homes for sale: Average salary needed to rent three bedroom homes in every postcode

Rents continue to rise in Dublin as prices have jumped by 11% compared to last year.

Stark figures revealed that the average rents in South County Dublin were a whopping €2,586 from January to March. Meanwhile, South Dublin City prices were an average of €2,446, and rents in Dublin City were €2,300.

North Dublin City saw average rents of €2,249 during the first three months of the year, according to the figures released by Daft.ie this week. The report revealed that the cost of renting had gone up 0.5% quarter-on-quarter in Dublin City compared to Cork City, Limerick City, Galway City, and Waterford City where prices fell by 1.8% on average during the same period.

The total number of properties to rent in Ireland was at 959 homes on May 1. The Daft.ie report’s author, Trinity College Dublin associate professor of economics Ronan Lyons said: "While this is up 13% on the same date a year earlier, it is one of the lowest totals seen on the site since the start of the report in 2005."

We had a look at the average rents in every Dublin area on Daft.ie and calculated how much you'll need to earn monthly if 30% of your gross salary covered rental costs for a three-bedroom house.
