The Department of Education has said that Regional Education and Language Teams (REALT) are now in place to assist Ukrainian families with the transition into the Irish education system.

REALT's initial focus is helping families secure places for their children in schools.

They will also be providing schools support to meet the needs of these children as well as advising the Department of Education in developing new capacity when required.

Information for Ukrainian parents on accessing school places for their children is available on gov.ie/Ukraine.
