Gogglebox Ireland’s Angela De La Mere has passed away.
Kite Entertainment, the company behind the show, took to Twitter to share the sad news. It posted: “Everyone at Kite and all who’ve worked on Gogglebox Ireland are sadden by the news that original cast member Angela De La Mere has passed away.
“Sending all our love to her family and her Goggle cohort Eileen. RIP Angela.”

A death notice for the Castleknock woman on RIP.ie reads: “The death has occurred of Angela De La Mere on March 16 2023, (peacefully) in the loving care of her family and the staff of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.”
Angela was a firm favourite on Gogglebox along with her co-star Eileen. The pair shot to fame after viewers noticed their adorable Michael D Higgins tea cosy. Fans of the show shared their sadness on Twitter.
One wrote: “RIP Angela, may you rest in peace. We enjoyed watching you and Eileen on Gogglebox....you have a real twinkle in your eye and a bit of development.
“You’re missed by many. Condolences to all who loved and miss Angela.”
Another wrote: “So very sad to learn about this...RIP Angela... my sympathy to your family and friends.”
