Dublin football star Jeff Hendrick celebrates birth of second child

Dublin football star Jeff Hendrick has announced the birth of his second child.

The professional footballer, who plays as a midfielder for the Republic of Ireland national team and Queen's Park Rangers, shared the happy news on social media at the weekend for Father's Day.

Coolock native Hendrick spent his childhood years with boyhood club St Kevin's Boys in Dublin and went on to join the Derby County's youth academy in 2008.

More recently Hendrick played for Ireland against Scotland last week at the Aviva Stadium, with the boys in green winning with a score of 3-0.

Taking to social media, Hendrick posted a series of photos of his family including the new addition.

The delighted footballer captioned the post: "Baby Hendrick."

Back in January, Coolock native Hendrick was praised for his work for helping the homeless.

The footballer was hailed a "legend" by a homeless charity group after he made a generous donation, donating brand new clothes to the charity called A Lending Hand.
