Dublin food delivery drama as gardai nab driver but social media users have one burning question

There was food delivery drama on the streets of Dublin last night after a brazen driver was nabbed by gardai.

Officers from Store Street were on patrol in the city centre when a motorcycle zoomed past a red light.

Gardai wasted no time in stopping the driver, who said they were providing food delivery services.

It was soon revealed that, on top of breaking a red light, they were uninsured and unlicensed.

The motorbike was impounded and court proceedings now loom for the driver.

Details of the incident were shared on the Garda Traffic Twitter account along with a photo.

The post reads: “Not so fast food! Uninsured and unlicensed motorcyclist stopped after breaking a red light in the City Centre last night by Gardaí from Store Street on patrol #keepingpeoplesafe. Driver was providing food delivery services. Bike impounded and Court proceedings to follow.”

The post sparked a flurry of comments, with many users having one burning question.

Several users shared their concern about the person due to receive their food.

“What about the food?” one person wrote.

Another added: “Long wait for someone looking for their grub …”

A third tagged their friend and joked: “I wonder is this why your food was delayed?”

Others shared their fears about the potential risks posed by uninsured and unlicensed food delivery drivers and called for stricter regulations.
