Dublin Fire Brigade rescued two trapped wedding guests in City Hall on Saturday.
The fire brigade attended City Hall to assist an unfortunate wedding party on an otherwise happy day. The lift within the building had malfunctioned, leaving both a bridesmaid and the flower girl trapped within.
Fortunately, firefighters were able to free both individuals, allowing the wedding ceremony to finally proceed as planned. Dublin Fire Brigade later responded on Twitter to a post regarding the incident, cheekily calling themselves “wedding crashers.”
A DFB statement read: "Shortly after lunchtime on Saturday 5th November Dublin Fire Brigade responded to reports of people trapped in a lift in City Hall on Dame Street. A fire engine from Tara Street fire station along with an emergency tender from Phibsborough fire station were sent to the scene.”

They continued: “On arrival, firefighters discovered two members of a wedding party stuck in the lift which had malfunctioned. The crew reset the lift and the bridesmaid and flower girl were able to rejoin the wedding ceremony.”
Members of the fire brigade later posed alongside the wedding party for a photo to commemorate the unconventional wedding day.
