Tributes have poured in for a well-known member of the Dublin Fire Brigade on his retirement.
District Officer Larry Byrne will be retiring from his post after nearly four decades of service. A heartwarming message shared by Dublin Fire Brigade on Facebook reads: "After 38 years of service, we said goodbye to District Officer Larry Byrne. Joining Dublin Fire Brigade with the Class of 1985, Larry has been involved in every aspect of the profession and was the initial incident commander at the Ballymun Metro fire in 2018.
"A Watch in HQ were joined by crews from across the job for Larry's final parade. Thanks, Larry, for everything."

Friends, family, and colleagues took to the comments to wish him all the best. One person said: "Best of luck, Larry. Was a pleasure working with you throughout the years. Enjoy your retirement and stay safe.
Another person added: "Thank you, Larry, for your service. May you have a long and happy retirement."
A third Facebook user said: "Wishing you a happy and healthy retirement. Great service."
