Dublin Fire Brigade have paid tribute to an officer upon his retirement after 31 years of hard work.
Derek Cheevers was celebrated by his colleagues this week as he finished up his time as district officer within the organisation. Photos show him surrounded by firefighters as he was gifted a plaque.
Staff at Dublin Fire Brigade wished him well as he entered a new chapter. They praised his prior achievements within the organisations and said Mr Cheevers would be deeply missed.

Dublin Fire Brigade wrote on Twitter: "After 31 years District Officer Derek Cheevers has retired. A senior district officer with Dublin Fire Brigade, he also trained EU responders and was deployed to real world disasters where he gained unrivalled experience."
People took to the comments section to congratulate Derek. Twitters users admired the camaraderie in the photos taken to mark his retirement.
