Dublin Fire Brigade were handed an emergency with a difference when they came to the rescue of a heavily pregnant mum whose waters had broken.
Last night, a team of ambulance crew from Kilbarrack as well as firefighters from Swords and Balbriggan rushed to attend the scene of a mum in labour on the M1 motorway. The baby girl was on the way and had to be delivered into the world before her mum could reach the hospital.
The fantastic crew banded together, and the healthy baby girl was delivered safely. The skilled crew from Dublin Fire Brigade then transferred both mother and child safely over to the maternity hospital in Dublin.
