Dublin designer thrilled as Lady Gaga wears her gloves for World Tour

A Dublin designer's leather gloves are being seen by the world as they are worn by pop icon Lady Gaga this week.

Paula Rowan has said it was a “huge honour” to design gloves for Lady Gaga to wear during her current World Tour, the second time that the star has chosen to wear the leather gloves. Paula Rowan has been designing gloves for 15 years and her creations have been worn by some of Hollywood's biggest stars including Dua Lipa, Ruth Negga, Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore, as well as appearing in Vogue magazine.

This week, Lady Gaga was spotted donning the fantastic black 'Fergie' gloves as part of her Chromatica Ball World Tour. Lady Gaga previously showcased Rowan’s designs in the hit movie House of Gucci when played the role of Patrizia Reggiani.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Paula explained that she was approached by Lady Gaga's team a few weeks ago to design gloves for the star and her dancers. Paula said: "It's been an exciting time, Lady Gaga wore my gloves in House of Gucci and I've been working with her team of stylists. With Lady Gaga you want to see her perform, and you also want to see what she is wearing, her extravagant costumes, etc.

"I've never seen Lady Gaga wear something twice. For a small brand, which I am, to have such a huge iconic name wearing my designs is a huge honour for a small Irish business."

Paula completed her studies at UCD and first opened her boutique at Dublin's Westbury Mall in 2006, before she launched her first collection in 2008. Paula Rowan gloves are made from the finest quality lambskin, and stitched in Italy to Paula’s own designs.

She also sells her gloves in Milan and the UK, and she has a collection of 120 gloves for men and women that come in 25 different colours.
