A Dublin councillor has hailed the "amazing power" of social media after her stolen e-cargo bike was found in the Phoenix Park over the weekend.
Green Party's Cllr Donna Cooney was in a shop on Capel Street last Thursday shopping for St Patrick's Day supplies for the parade when her beloved e-cargo bike was stolen. She previously told Dublin Live that the theft of her bike was a "nightmare" because she uses it all the time for community work.
Cllr Cooney reported the theft of her e-cargo bike to gardai, and a desperate search spanning across Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp began with hundreds of people sharing the image of the black bike with its yellow Bike Heroes sticker on the side. And over the weekend there was welcome news as Cllr Cooney confirmed that park rangers at the Phoenix Park in Dublin had found her e-cargo bike abandoned and unscathed.
