An ongoing bus crisis is "turning people away from public transport", it has been claimed.
Independent Dublin City Councillor, Noeleen Reilly, has slammed the public transport service after receiving several complaints from northside residents. The 13,40,83,220 N4 and N6 routes have been severely affected by cancellations or delays.
She said: "Every single day I am receiving several complaints from residents in Finglas and Ballymun regarding Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead which operate all the bus routes in the area.

"The implementation of the Bus Connects programme in Finglas has had an adverse effect rather than providing residents with greater service. Children have been getting detention in school through no fault of their own and workers receiving warnings because their bus didn't turn up on time."
She went on to say that the buses are "most unreliable" at peak hours when people need them the most. She added: "All this is doing is driving citizens back into cars and making the roads more congested.
"The Minister for Transport needs to make this a priority, If working on the buses is not deemed attractive anymore then he needs to address the reasons why as a matter of urgency."
