It was a big night for Dublin's pubs, cafes and restaurants at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2023 on Monday evening.
The awards, which celebrate the best of Irish hospitality over the past 12 months, took place in the Clayton Hotel in south Dublin on Monday evening. Now in its 14th year, the Irish Restaurant Awards, which have been dubbed Ireland's 'Food Oscars', received a record number 130,000 nominations this year.
Almost 1, 200 restaurant and hospitality business owners and staff celebrated their hard work at Monday's award ceremony. The big winner on the night was Dublin's Chapter One by Finnish chef Mickael Viljanen, which was named as Ireland’s best restaurant for the second year in a row.

Set beneath the Writers Museum on Parnell Square in Dublin city centre, Michelin star restaurant has earned praise for its minimalist take on local and seasonal Irish cuisine, blended with luxury staples like fois gras and truffles.
Meanwhile The Vanilla Pod in Blackrock was named best cafe in Ireland and the restaurant with the best customer service was Guinea Pig in Dalkey. Crudo in Sandymount took the award for best casual dining as Paul McNamara of Uno Mas in Dublin was named chef of the year. The Glas restaurant in the Westbury Mall, Dublin 2 got the title 'Best Free From' in Ireland.
Dublin Pickle was named the Best World Cuisine in all of Ireland, while Library Street in Dublin 2 has the Best Emerging Irish Cuisine. The RDS Members Club got the award for Best Private Dining and Club Restaurant in Ireland, while Haddington House in Dun Laoghaire provides the Best Cocktail Experience in Ireland. The manager of The Old Spot in Dublin 4, Denise McBrien, was named the Best Restaurant Manager in the country.
Even though the much-coveted award for Ireland's Pub of the Year went to Thomas Connolly in Sligo, Walsh's Pub in Stoneybatter was named the best pub in Dublin. While the following businesses did not get an all-Ireland win, they did get a 'Best in Dublin' award.
