Fontaines D.C have been named "best band in the world" at this year's NME awards.
The awards, held in the O2 Academy in Brixton, was hosted by Daisy May Cooper and rapper-presenter Lady Leshurr.
Fontaines D.C beat out stiff competition from the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers, Ben&Ben, Bring Me The Horizon, CHVRCHES, Glass Animals, HAIM, Maneskin, Nova Twins and Wolf Alice.
The Dublin band were presented the award by Kildare comedian and actor, Aisling Bea.
Fontaines D.C is made up of Tom Coll (drums), Grian Chatten (lead singer), Carlos O'Connell (guitar), Conor Deegan (bass) and Conor Curley(guitar).
"Thanks to everyone who we've ever worked with," lead-singer Grian Chatten said when claiming the award.
"We are going to party like Number 10 tonight," Chatten jokingly added in reference to the parties that took place at No10 Downing Street during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fontaines DC are set to release their third studio album, Skinty Fia on April 22 and have already released two singles from it, Jackie Down the Line and I Love You.
It follows their first two award-winning albums, 2020's A Hero’s Death and their 2019 debut, Dogrel.
