Dublin Airport has warned passengers that taxis are likely to be scarce this weekend as Garth Brooks takes the stage at Croke Park.
The 60-year-old singer is kicking off the first of his five gigs at the stadium tonight. Traffic around the city is building as 80,000 concert-goers make their way to the north of the city.
As a result of the shows, taxi demand is "likely to be very high" and anyone travelling to or from the airport has been asked to plan their journey accordingly. Dublin Airport told passengers today: "Demand for taxis is likely to be very high in Dublin this weekend due to the large Garth Brooks concerts taking place in Croke Park.

"Passengers may wish to consider other options when travelling to/from Dublin Airport, including bus or drop-off/pick-up. A full list of the various bus options available can be found on our website."
The concert organisers have also warned ticketholders to plan their journey to and from Croke Park, as there is only one car park close to the venue that holds 400 cars, and traffic restrictions will be in place near the venue. People aged under 14 will not be allowed on to the standing/pitch area, and bags must be less than an A4 size and will be searched on the way into the venue.
Attendees are also asked to double-check the date on their tickets and are reminded that the show starts at 7.30pm, with gates open from 5pm. Croke Park bosses said the cut-off point for Brooks to be off stage is 10.30pm but he will be ready to perform at 7.30pm, suggesting each show will last almost three hours each night.
