Dublin Airport search sees herbal cannabis worth six figure sum seized by Revenue

Revenue officers carrying out routine profiling at Dublin Airport have discovered herbal cannabis worth €240,000.

The stash, which weighed 12kgs, came in sealed air cargo that had a label for clothes. It had arrived from the United States and was destined for an address in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing into the discovery and was part of Revenue's operations targeting the importation of drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.

There were around 50 delayed flights at Dublin Airport this morning as the ongoing international travel chaos continues worldwide. On top of the regular delays, there is an ongoing luggage crisis at the airport with hundreds of bags left abandoned across the travel hub.
