Dublin Airport queues: What is Fast Track and is it still available?

As passengers continue to face long security queues at Dublin Airport, many people are wondering if Fast Track will help shorten their wait time.

It comes after over 1,000 passengers missed their flights after a chaotic weekend.

While Dublin Airport have said they are working to cut down the massive queues, passengers are still nervous about getting to their flight on time. Paying for Fast Track may speed up the process but is it available right now?

What is Fast Track?

According to Dublin Airport's website, Fast Track provides passengers with access to a dedicated security lane, enabling you to fly through security and reach the departure lounge quickly.

Currently, Fast Track is open but only for those who already have a confirmed booking, as Dublin Airport are temporarily not taking any new bookings.

Fast Track is available for departing flights only.

Is Fast Track available right now?

Dublin Airport currently have Fast Track sold out on their website. However, all confirmed bookings will be honoured as well as Special Flyer lanyard holders and their one companion.

Fast Track could reopen before your holiday this summer, so it's well worth keeping an eye on the Dublin Airport website.

What do I get with Fast Track and how much is it?

As part of the Fast Track service, passengers get access to a dedicated Fast Track channel, flight status updates via text message, as well as a complimentary hot beverage.

Fast Track access is priced between €6.99 and €12.99 and is dependent on date and time of travel.

Opening Hours for Fast Track

Fast Track is only open at designated times at Dublin Airport.

These are as follows:

Terminal 1: From 04.00 to 21.00

Terminal 2: From 05.00 to 14:00 (Mon-Thurs) and 05:00 to 10:00 (Fri-Sun)

When should Fast Track holders arrive before their flight?

Passengers should be aware that it may be very busy at peak times, so it is recommended you allow yourself plenty of time.

At peak times, this can mean arriving three and a half hours before your departure time (four and half hours for international flights). If parking a car, allow a further 30 minutes.

Although new bookings for Fast Track are currently closed, all confirmed bookings will be honoured as well as Special Flyer lanyard holders and their one companion.

Meanwhile, Fast Track is also available to business class and first class passengers.

Airport Club customers who present their membership card will also have access to Fast Track.
