Do you ever find yourself in the window seat of a plane, waiting to take off from Dublin Airport, and wondering what the different signs and lights on the tarmac are for?
Dublin Airport has broken down the meaning behind all of the different numbers, letters and lights that pilots follow to guide themselves to and from the runway.
In a thread on Twitter, they explained that runways are numbered based on their direction and position at the airport.

Dublin Airport said: "The numbers range from 1-36, with each number standing for a certain direction on the compass rose. Each end of the runway has the number relating to the direction 180 degrees away from the other end.
"The letters L & R stand for left & right, and are added to the numbers, for example 10R/28L, which translates to 100 Degrees Right / 280 Degrees Left."
They also explained the difference between the green and red lights.
"The green lights are apron taxiway centre line lights, they let you know you are on a taxi line. The red lights are runway end lights, which inform you that you’re approaching the end of the runway.
"The Taxi line is a line that an aircraft follows when it is taxiing to its approved destination at Dublin Airport."
