Dublin Airport bound Ryanair flight delayed by 40 minutes after passenger 'removed his trousers'

A Dublin Airport bound flight was delayed by 40 minutes yesterday after a young man caused major disruption and needed to be removed from the plane.

According to another passenger on the flight, the man "seemed to be intoxicated".

The Ryanair flight was from Alicante to Dublin on Monday afternoon

According to the passenger who witnessed the situation, "gobsmacked" women were sitting near the disruptive passenger and were "stunned when the young man removed his pants saying he got very warm and sweaty on planes".

The passenger said the man was asked to put back on his trousers by cabin crew but "he refused and became quite abusive".

The young man also apparently had "several bottles of duty free in a bag" which cabin crew asked him to place in an overhead locker.

However, he refused saying "no one should take them as they were his presents".

The man continued to not listen to cabin crew and a decision was taken to remove him from the flight.

After he was escorted off the plane by Spanish police, "there were further delays at the steps of the plane when the man insisted he had more luggage on the flight".

Eventually, the plane departed 40 minutes behind schedule.

The passenger who witnessed the situation unfold said the incident was "excellently handled by the Ryanair crew".

A Ryanair spokesperson told Dublin Live: This flight from Alicante to Dublin (07 February) was delayed ahead of take-off after a passenger became disruptive on board.

"Crew alerted local police who removed the passenger from the aircraft, and the flight departed following a short delay of approx. 40 mins. Ryanair apologises to affected passengers for this delay.”
