Just a few weeks back, pop superstar Dua Lipa kicked off the UK and Ireland leg of her Future Nostalgia tour at Manchester's AO Arena. And it appears that during her time in the city, she added a quick trip to Stockport to her itinerary.
There's plenty of places to eat and drink in Stockport, but on this occasion the singer is though to have hit up one of Greater Manchester's most talked about restaurants - Where The Light Gets In. Sharing her visit on her Instagram stories, the singer can be seen sat at one of the restaurant's tables, enjoying a drink against a backdrop of industrial brick and plant life.
The snap was shared by Stop in Stockport, a site which regularly shares news and update on the town including the latest hospitality and retail openings. Taking to Twitter, they said: "So @dualipa was in Stockport last week @wtlgi #stockport."
Sitting proudly Rostron Brow, Where The Lights Gets In was launched by chef Samuel Buckley in 2016 and has amassed a strong legion following of foodie fans. Its fine dining experience has received rave reviews from national and local restaurant reviewers since opening, and last January was awarded a 'green' Michelin star, in recognition of its exceptional focus and commitment to sustainability.
Serving a daily changing menu created around the ingredients on hand each day, the Stockport-based restaurant sources produce from sustainably sourced seafood providers, as well as from its own farm, and from The Landing, a community growing space located on the roof of the town's Merseyway Shopping Centre.
The old coffee warehouse, which seats just 30 diners is a little off the beaten track, but can be spotted from Lower Hillgate below, thanks to the yellow light of its dining room. The restaurant's creators are also set to open Yellowhammer, a new bakery project on the street below in collaboration with potter Joe Hartley and baker Rosie Wilkes, in the coming months.
The community bakery, deli and pottery studio in Stockport's Old Town will take over the old Tudor Cafe on 15 Lower Hillgate. While an official opening date has not be confirmed, the owners have been busy resorting the building back to its former Edwardian glory.
When it opens, customers can expect deli sandwiches, baked treats and pies, and sourdough loaves, presented in handmade ceramics crafted by Joe, who will be also hosting pottery workshops. A series of workshops and events are set to take place on Fridays as well.
Dua Lipa is due to play the last two UK dates tonight and tomorrow at The O2 in London. After that she will embark on the European leg of her tour, stopping off at cities including Paris Amsterdam and Berlin.
