Pop star Dua Lipa has posted photos appearing to show that she is a supporter of Arsenal despite previous indications that she had an allegiance to Liverpool.
The Grammy award-winning singer's song 'One Kiss' is a staple of the matchday playlist, with the tune often played before and after Liverpool games. It was often played by stadium tannoys in a move to better the atmosphere among Reds fans.
Klopp and his players even joined in with a rendition following the Reds' FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City at Wembley last season, having first forged a connection with Dua Lipa in 2018. Four years ago, when Liverpool faced Real Madrid for the Champions League final in Kyiv, the chart sensation performed the song live on the pitch before kick-off.
Lipa had previously described herself as an "Honorary Liverpool supporter", after the anthemic 'One Kiss' became so aligned to the club’s fans. The song, which was produced by Calvin Harris, was in its fifth week at No 1 in the UK at the time of that final in Ukraine – with that unsurprisingly being the highlight of the pre-match set for that Champions League final.
“It has an easy hook to pick up on,” Anfield’s stadium announcer George Sephton explained to The Athletic when discussing the affiliation. “So the fans took to it and it was associated with our return to the big time. Only recently has it picked up again, but the crowd are back on it.
“It was played at both Wembley finals, so it means a lot to the travelling Kop. It’s fair to say it’s nothing like any previous Anfield anthem. It belongs firmly in the 21st century. Thumping, upbeat and really different to the likes of Three Little Birds, Fields of Anfield Road and songs of their ilk.”

However, many Reds fans may have been taken aback by the pop star’s Instagram updates on Saturday where she revealed her support of Arsenal. The 27-year-old was at the Emirates for the 4-1 victory over Leeds, and later posted another photo of herself with a Gunners scarf on.
This perhaps should not come as too big a surprise as Dua Lipa is a Londoner with her family being supporters of the North London club.
She previously said of her thoughts on the sport: "I'm not really a big football fan, my little brother and my dad watch football, they support Arsenal. I've never been to a football game apart from in PE and they would make me play football myself and I was terrible at it."
