The Cleveland Browns signed a new defensive tackle to their practice squad yesterday, inking Chris Williams to a deal. And that may have been because they lost one of their practice squad as well. The Atlanta Falcons have signed Tommy Togiai to their active roster off of Cleveland’s practice squad.
The #Falcons are signing DT Tommy Togiai to their active roster off the #Browns’ practice squad. Cleveland’s 2021 fourth-round pick was in his second stint with the team.

Togiai, a fourth round pick of the Browns back in 2021, saw significant time on the field over the past two seasons but did not make the 53-man roster this year after Cleveland upgraded their defensive line. He then signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad but was soon released by them. Togiai then returned to Cleveland where he has been on the practice squad all year.
He has not been elevated on a gameday this season, so joining Atlanta for the rest of the year will be his first taste of regular season football in 2023. Best of luck to Togiai as he gets an opportunity on the Falcons’ 53-man roster.
