The DSPCA are appealing for the owner of two dogs left abandoned to get in touch, after one dog was tied to the shelter's fence while the other is missing.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the animal charity shared a series of photos of their new arrival, a small dog named Biscuits who arrived into their care on Thursday. In their post, the DSPCA explained how they discovered Biscuits tied to a fence outside the DSPCA's shelter as well as note left at the scene, which read: 'BIG DOG NAME LOLA, SMALL DOG NAME BISCUITS.'
After discovering Biscuits, members of the DSPCA realised that the bigger dog Lola had apparently broken free. They immediately began a search for Lola, but so far she has still not been found.

The DSPCA said: "Thursday evening at approximately 7.50pm as staff were leaving the shelter they heard crying. When they went to check they found a dog tied to the surrounding fence of the shelter.
"Beside her there was a rope tied to the same fence with a harness attached to it and a note saying; "Big dog name Lola, Small dog name Biscuits." The DSPCA said that their volunteers "searched high and low" to try and find Lola who had escaped from her harness, but she was nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, Biscuits was brought to the safety of the shelter and is now being well cared for by kind DSPCA volunteers. But the DSPCA has expressed concern for Lola, because they don't know what breed Lola is she is or how old she is.
The DSPCA said: "It doesn't matter what situation you are in there is no excuse to abandon your dog. Lola and Biscuits were left in the dark tied beside a busy road and only for Biscuits crying she would not have been found until the morning.
"We are so concerned for Lola. Did she try to run after her owners car?. Has she been hit by a car? She is out there somewhere terrified. If you are Lola's owner please contact us in confidence at info@dspca.ie."
Followers flocked to social media to express their shock and sadness over the dogs' abandonment. One person commented: "So so sad we don’t deserve them what is wrong with people."
A second said: "Hope you find Lola soon, at least Biscuits is in safe hands." A third said: "Poor doggies. So sad."
The DSPCA also recently took in a Giant Flemish Rabbit, known as Meabh, who was found in Mulhuddart on March 14 and is in their care.
