'Drunk' woman removed from easyJet holiday flight to Turkey after 'assaulting' passenger

A 'drunk' passenger was removed from an easyJet holiday flight to Turkey amid claims she assaulted a man.

A witness says the woman was intoxicated and caused disruption onboard the plane as it was about to take off.

The captain made the decision to return to the terminal, where police were waiting.

The drama unfolded onboard the 2.30pm flight to Dalaman yesterday, Belfast Live reports.

A spokesperson for easyJet explained that once the woman was removed the plane continued it's journey.

The company insists that staff onboard acted appropriately, and they take incidents of this nature very seriously.

An easyJet spokesperson said: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY3055 from Belfast International Airport to Dalaman (Turkey) on April 8 returned to stand due to a passenger behaving disruptively. The aircraft was met by police and the passenger was offloaded before the flight continued to Dalaman.

“Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

“While such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard. The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's priority.”
