A “drunk” Conservative Party delegate reportedly urinated in a plant pot at Manchester’s Midland Hotel before falling and smashing it.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the delegate was at the four-star hotel on Peter Street on Monday night after having some drinks.
In the foyer of the hotel, there was an expensive pot which the delegate chose to urinate in.
The newspaper reports that the aftermath was witnessed by a group of senior emergency officers, who were in the vicinity carrying out a safety and risk assessment of the area around the conference centre.
The delegate was not arrested and the Manchester Evening News reports that the man agreed to settle with the hotel and cover the cost of the damage.
A spokesman for the Conservative Party said: “It is not something we would want to comment on.”
The Midland has been contacted for comment.
