Drugs worth hundreds of thousands seized in west Dublin

Herbal cannabis worth €400,000 was seized by Revenue officers in west Dublin yesterday.

The ongoing investigations targeted individuals suspected to be involved in an organised crime group operating in the west Dublin area.

A Joint Operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Clondalkin Divisional Drugs Unit and personnel attached to the Revenue Customs Service.

A number of subsequent searches were carried out as a result of this seizure.

Garda Info tweeted: "GNDOCB and the Clondalkin Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a joint operation with @RevenueIE yesterday resulting in the seizure of approximately €400,000 worth of cannabis by Revenue Customs Service."

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.

If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.

Investigations are ongoing.
