Detectives have allegedly busted a backyard methamphetamine manufacturing operation and seized a large quantity of drugs from a property south of Adelaide, police say.
Two men have been arrested and charged over the alleged operation, which police said was uncovered at Chapel Hill near Echunga.
Detectives arrived at the property on Wednesday and began a search that led to the discovery of the clandestine laboratory, which police said had been "set up to produce methamphetamine".
Police — including Crime Branch detectives and STAR Group officers — spent two days at the property gathering evidence.
"The discovery of a backyard clandestine laboratory like this is sadly another example of the total disregard organised criminals have for the safety of the community," Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson said.
"These type of labs are extremely volatile and dangerous and the drugs produced in them have the potential to cause untold harm to people using them."
A 54-year-old Chapel Hill man was arrested on Wednesday, and has been accused of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
Police said he would appear in court next week, after making an initial appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
A 35-year-old Angle Park man was arrested on Thursday.
He has also been accused of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, and was due to appear in court today.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
