A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday heard Turner's DNA was found on the packages which resulted in his home being searched on July 25, 2021. Police seized a mobile phones, a sim card, scales containing traces of cocaine, and a gram of cannabis.

Prosecutor Emma Harris said analysis of the phones revealed messages received and sent by the defendant relating to the supply and purchase of drugs. Turner was arrested and gave a no comment interview but he later pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs of Class A.

The court heard Turner had 24 previous convictions, 18 of which related to drugs. At the time of his sentencing he was serving a custodial sentence of 34 months at a young offenders' institute for possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine, and cannabis.

In mitigation it was said the defendant had completed a thinking skills programme while imprisoned at HMP Portland. Judge Michael Fitton KC sentenced Turner to 12 months behind bars to be served consecutively to his current sentence.
