Drone brings Brentford vs Wolves to a halt with players forced to leave pitch

Brentford’s Premier League clash with Wolves was halted for 15 minutes after a drone was flown over the pitch.

Both sets of players were forced to leave the field after the flying object appeared at the Brentford Community Stadium during the first half.

Fans chanted 'who's the w***** with the drone' as they awaited for the players to return to the field.

The teams eventually reappeared and had a short warm up before the action resumed with the game still goalless.

"It was the same for both teams," said Bees boss Thomas Frank after his side's 2-1 defeat.

"I guess if they find the person, he or she will get fined because they disrupted a match."

Earlier, Bees pair Mathias Jensen and Rico Henry were involved in a sickening clash of heads.

The duo were left bloodied after colliding head on when attempting to win an aerial ball in the 21st minute of the Premier League clash.

They clutched their faces as they were substituted after receiving treatment and headed straight down the tunnel.

Mads Roerslev and Shandon Baptiste replaced them as concussion substitutes but neither player returned to the fray.

"It was horrible," added Frank. "When they were running I was thinking, 'oh my God, this is going to be bad'.

"But they are good. Mathias is clear of concussion and Rico will be assessed."

The start of the second half was also delayed as the referee had a problem with his headset.

Three minutes after the eventual restart, Joao Moutinho fired Wolves ahead before their left-back Toti Gomes was shown a red card for a foul, which Peter Bankes overturned after checking the screen.

Moments later Ivan Toney volleyed Brentford level but Ruben Neves won it with 12 minutes remaining, and the clock pushing 5.30pm, with a shot from the edge of the box.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage said: "We needed to be focused on the game. The first break was a very hard situation with the two players, then it was the drone and we came inside and talked about the game and what we can change.

"It was a strange first half and the breaks don't help your rhythm. But it was a better second half.

"I'm happy because we had the personality I want to play the game and the mentality, because this team are very hard to play at home. It was a very good day for us."
