Drivers are being warned as major changes are coming to effect impacting number plates from next month.
The standard number plates on all new vehicles are being made extra durable from March 2022 to pass a new durability test.
As Birmingham Live reports., they need to pass the tests to make sure they can stand up against destructive materials on the road.

This means they will be more resilient to debris and road salt.
The new measures will allow Automatic Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will find it easier to read the lettering.
And in turn, two tone number plates which use different colours to create a 3D effect will be banned.
But they can still be Perspex or acrylic lettering, provided it meets all other requirements.
The new number plates will also have to include the supplier’s business name and postcode, along with the name of the number plate manufacturer and the new standard.
Along with these new rules and changes, drivers are also being warned that the number plate changes could lead to rising and falling prices in the car market.
This comes after the Highway Code rules were updated, changing with hierarchy of the road.
Drivers have been warned that any use of a mobile phone in the car, including changing the music, can result in a fine.
Vulnerable road users such as cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders now have priority and drivers should allow at least 1.5 metres space when overtaking if a cyclist is travelling up to 30mph.
