Drivers warned of disruption as bags of stones/salt fall on M1

Drivers are being told to expect disruption after several bags of stone/salt have fallen on the M1.

Police are asking drivers to find alternative routes following the incident which has taken place at the Lisburn junction of the M1 heading eastbound.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised of some disruption, delays on the M1 Eastbound, Lisburn junction, Antrim as several large bags of salt/stone have fallen onto the road.

"Please seek an alternative route for your journey."

Motorists in Belfast are also being warned of delays on the Westlink in both directions due to broken down vehicles.

Both sides of the road have been reduced to one lane near Clifton Bridge.

Drivers are being asked to find alternative routes as traffic is moving slowly in the area.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that there are delays on the Westlink in Belfast in both directions due to broken down vehicles.

Both sides of the Westlink are down to one lane near Clifton Street Bridge with traffic moving slowly in the area. Please seek alternative routes if possible."
