Drivers have been baffled by 'shocking' repairs to a Nottinghamshire junction that have made it 'worse than before'. People living near to the junction of Hallam's Lane, Gedling Road, and Derby Street in Arnold have took to social media to decry the poor state of recently made repairs.
Posting to a Facebook group, a local said: "After reporting the state of the road Hallam's Lane to Gedling Road/ Derby [Street] junction, today I got an email saying work had been completed...never seen such a ramshackle mess in all my days !!"
Councillor Michael Payne, deputy leader of Gedling Borough Council, replied: "Utterly shocking! I’ve requested this entire junction be properly and fully resurfaced as a priority scheme. I’m awaiting Nottinghamshire County Council’s response."

One member of the group, said: "Is this the 'before' photo?" The original poster replied: "Unfortunately not, it was better before they 'repaired' it."
Another said: "A couple of winters and they'll need to go back. All road repairs look like this now. Evidently none of them take any pride in what they do."
"Did they do in the dark with their hands tied behind their backs," another added. One reader said: "I dread to think what it looked like before."
Nottinghamshire County Council said it would make permanent repairs as part of a future programme of works. They also highlighted that winter conditions contributed to damage to roads.
Gary Wood, Head of Highways and Transport at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “We are aware of the deterioration at the junction of Hallams Lane, Gedling Road and Derby Road and we plan to make permanent repairs as part of a future programme of works.
“Winter conditions can cause damage to our roads, and where residents are concerned about potholes in their area, we ask that they report them to us either through our website, or by using the My Notts App. https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/potholes/report-a-pothole”
