A man aged in his 20s has been arrested for driving whilst under the influence of drugs after a pedestrian was killed in a collision involving a Mercedes in west London.
Metropolitan Police were called to Harrow Road near Royal Oak Underground Station just before 4am on Sunday.
A man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of a blue Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs, the Met said.
Road closures remain in place in the area as police continue their investigation and a full examination of the scene.
The Met are appealing for witnesses and footage of the deadly collision.
The man’s family have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.
