Police who pulled over a man who was caught using his mobile phone were shocked to discover a stash of cocaine worth £40,000 in the car.
Glasgow Road Police officers stopped the 20-year-old yesterday, June 16, on Nelson Street in Glasgow at around 4.45pm and he was also found to be disqualified, uninsured and attempted to give cops false information.
Following a search of the vehicle cops recovered the drugs and £7,500 in used cash.
Officers uploaded images of the illegal stash to Twitter, and it appeared to be wrapped into smaller deals, alongside the wad of used notes police had seized.
They warned that criminals will not be allowed to use Scotland's road networks for such activity.
The tweet said: "Lesson of the day-don’t use your phone while driving.
"Glasgow Road Police will stop you.
"We will see you’re disqualified with no insurance after giving false info and that you have £40k of Class A drugs on board.
"You will be arrested.
"We will deny criminals the use of Scotland's Road Network."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers made a routine stop of a car on Nelson Street in Glasgow at 4.45pm on Thursday, 16 June.
“A quantity of cocaine, worth approximately £40,000, and cash totalling £7,500 were recovered following a search of the vehicle.
“A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, 17 June.”
