Police say they have reported a driver whose unsecure load "caused chaos" on a busy motorway. The driver of a van braked sharply on the M1, resulting in goods falling onto the carriageway, according to Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit.
In a social media post, the force said they had reported the driver and advised them to use choke loops which would prevent it from happening again. Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit wrote on Twitter: "M1. Driver brakes sharply sending his insecure load across the motorway causing chaos.
"Reported and advised about choke loops to prevent it happening again. #Reported #Gp2". Two photos of the Ford van accompany the post.
Cracks on its windscreen can be seen in the images. One unimpressed user commented under the post: "Advised surely common sense?"
