Driver pulled over just 30 minutes after passing test

A driver was pulled over just 30 minutes after passing their test. Police said the driver was stopped by officers and, after proudly producing their pass certificate then failed to provide proof of any insurance.

The Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit called the situation, which happened in Long Eaton, "unbelievable." A warning on the gov.uk website regarding driving without insurance, states that a driver can be issued a £300 fixed penalty fine for the offence.

They could also receive six points on their license.

A tweet from the roads policing unit reads "Long Eaton - Driver had passed their driving test 30 minutes prior to being stopped and produces pass certificate with pride. Unfortunately was slightly less proud that they could not provide proof of any insurance.
