A DRIVER had a "narrow escape" after a tree collapsed on their car amid Storm Eowyn.
Officers revealed a motorist in East Dunbartonshire luckily escaped their vehicle after a tree fell onto it due to high winds.
However, following the incident, cops have urged drivers to "not use the road network unless it is an emergency".
Police Scotland Argyle and West Dunbartonshire shared a picture of the vehicle on their Facebook.
In the image, the motor could be seen severely damaged as a large tree crushed its front end.
It comes as Storm Eowyn battered central Scotland with high winds.
The Met Office had issued a red weather warning for parts of Scotland until 5pm on Friday.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Some drivers are putting themselves at risk on the road network during the Red Weather Alert.
"This driver in East Dunbartonshire had a narrow escape with a substantial tree which has fallen due to the winds.
"Do not use the road network unless it is an emergency.
"Stay indoors until the weather warnings are lifted."
