A driver was lucky to escape uninjured after an early-morning crash near the M4. The collision happened on the A4119 near Llantrisant shortly before 6.30am on Saturday. Officers from South Wales Police have been at the scene and the road, which is next to Premier Inn Llantrisant, was partially blocked before being cleared and re-opening fully at around 7.20am.
An image from the scene shows extensive damage to the car and to the railings on the side of the road which run along side a layby which is next to the hotel. The roads policing unit at South Wales Police tweeted at 6.28am on Saturday: “Currently dealing with a single-vehicle collision on A4119 near Llantrisant. Luckily the driver was not injured. Can’t say the same for his pride.”
