A person has died after crashing into a telegraph pole this morning in southern New South Wales.
Police said emergency services were called just after 11:00am to an intersection of Burley Griffin Way and McDonald Road at Bilbul, about 10 kilometres east of Griffith.
The driver died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.
It's another fatality following a horror long weekend on NSW roads. Eight people died and close to 70 others were injured.
Shortly after this morning's accident, power outages impacted the surrounding area.
Fire and Rescue NSW said the Rural Fire Service, SES and NSW Ambulance were at the scene.
It comes as regional and rural communities bear the brunt of flash flooding, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
