A woman allegedly jumped from a moving taxi after she was sexually assaulted by the driver who had picked her up at a licensed venue on the Gold Coast.
Following an investigation a 28-year-old man is facing three counts of sexual assault after separate incidents that allegedly took place when he was a rideshare and taxi driver.
The first allegedly occurred in November 2022 when a woman caught a ride-share from Coolangatta to Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast.
She pushed the man's hand away and left the vehicle after she was allegedly sexually assaulted while exiting.
Police allege another woman was assaulted in June 2023 when she caught a taxi from a licensed venue in Broadbeach.
It's alleged the same man sexually assaulted her twice before she jumped out of the moving taxi to escape.
She was not injured during the incident.
Officers were assisted by the taxi company and rideshare operator during the investigation that lead to the Helensvale man being charged with three counts of sexual assault.
He is expected to face court on July 19.
