A driver was caught speeding at more than 50mph past four 30mph speed signs on the Mancunian Way.
The male driver was spotted last night (Tuesday) after allegedly speeding past a police van on the main road. He will now be given three penalty points on his licence, police said.
The speed limit on the Mancunian Way was reduced to 30mph from 50mph in February this year after a series of crashes, one of them fatal. Analysis by highways official showed there had been 29 crashes on the road since 2018.

Posting about the incident last night on the GMP City Centre Facebook page, police said: "Driver reported by #GMPTransportUnit officers tonight due to passing four (!) 30mph speed signs along the #MancunianWay at 50mph+ in front of a Police van.
"Either doesn't care about speed limits or not paying attention to his speedo. 3 points on his licence either way..."
