Driver appears in court accused of causing death of man on M62

A man was in court accused of causing the death of a man on the M62.

Shaun Tinsley, 28, was arrested by police at a hotel in Mold, North Wales, on Friday, May 5, following a crash. Cheshire Constabulary was called to reports of the two car crash at around 3.45am on Saturday, April 29 on the M62 near Warrington.

Officers attending the scene found the crash involved a grey Mercedes and a silver Skoda Fabia. The driver of the Skoda, a 61-year-old man from Wirral, died of his injuries in Warrington District General Hospital.

Tinsley was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while uninsured and causing death by driving while disqualified. The 28-year-old of Deysbrook Way, Liverpool, was also charged with failing to stop following a collision, failing to report a collision and driving without insurance, reports CheshireLive.

He appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 6 where he was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, June 5

Two other men, along with a 17-year-old boy, have also been arrested in relation to the collision. They have all been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
