New Orleans Attack: Driver also shot two officers, says Police Chief

New Orleans: A man, who rammed a pickup truck into crowd at Bourbon Street killing at least 10 people, also fired on two New Orleans Police Officers, New Orleans police chief Anne Kirkpatrick said.

"Last night, we had over 300 officers out here, and because of the intentional mindset of this perpetrator – who went around our barricades in order to conduct this. He was hell bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did,” CNN quoted Kirkpatrick as saying.

The driver also fired on New Orleans Police officers. Both officers are said to be in stable condition.   

Kirkpatrick said the man drove the vehicle intentionally at high speed into the crowd.

At least 10 killed, and 30 injured after a pickup truck ploughed into New Year Revellers in New Orleans. 

French Quarter
The tragic incident occured at the Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter on New Year's day.
