A man has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in County Durham.
At around 9.45am on Saturday, emergency services were called to report of a collision on the A689 between Stanhope and Alston.
It is understood the incident was one-vehicle crash with a car ploughing into a tree.

Police officers closed the road for a number of hours while County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, the North East Ambulance Service and the Great North Air Ambulance attended to the incident.
A community paramedic was first at the scene of the collision and was backed up by an air ambulance crew.
A man, who was driving the vehicle, was given treatment at crash site before being transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by air.
The extent of his injuries are currently unknown.
The road remained closed while a recovery operation took place and for Durham County Council officers to deal with oil and fuel on the road.
Durham Constabulary confirmed that the road reopened at around 12.22pm.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.43am this morning to an road traffic collision between a car and a tree.
"A community paramedic was first at the scene and was backed up by the air ambulance, who transported one patient to the RVI."
