A young driver has died following a horror smash on a busy Scots motorway last night. Emergency services raced to the M9, near Falkirk, at around 6.35pm last night.
A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was driving a silver Vauxhall Astra at the time of the crash and was the sole occupant of the motor.
Cops locked down the northbound carriageway between junctions six and seven until after midnight as they launched a probe into the fatal collision. It is understood no other vehicles were involved.
Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw of Glenrothes Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family of the man who died and our work to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the crash or who has dash-cam footage that might help with our enquiries to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to police to contact us.”
