Drew Barrymore recently debuted a new hairstyle on her daytime television show, The Drew Barrymore Show. The 48-year-old host underwent a makeover by celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, known for his work with stars. During the segment, Barrymore removed her hair extensions live on air as Appleton prepared to style her and actress Camila Mendes.

Appleton transformed Mendes with a simple 'day-to-night' look, emphasizing her features with a bright yellow roller. Mendes shared her preference for a date being 15 minutes late, aligning with her own tendency to run behind schedule. Barrymore and Mendes bantered about the awkwardness of a date arriving early and having to wait.

Appleton then turned his attention to Barrymore, affectionately calling her 'Mrs. Hairstyle' and drawing inspiration from her for his creations. He incorporated a large hairpiece into Barrymore's reddish-brown locks, creating a bouffant style with a middle part and a bow accessory.

The stylist highlighted the resurgence of big hair, a trend that Barrymore embraced with enthusiasm. Quoting a line from Sir Mix-a-Lot's 'Baby Got Back,' Barrymore expressed her love for voluminous hair. Appleton mentioned a similar style he had done for Jennifer Lopez in Paris, which received positive feedback.

As Appleton worked on Barrymore's hair, the ladies discussed their quick 5-minute makeup routines. The stylist seamlessly blended the hairpiece into Barrymore's natural hair, achieving a glamorous and retro-inspired look. Barrymore expressed her delight with the final result, referencing J. Lo's approval of a similar style.
